Ministry Announced Date For Commercial Centers, Malls To Begin Children’s Hospitality Center
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has announced the date of May 3rd, 2021 to begin obliging the commercial centers and malls owners who are having an area of 40,000 square meters or more to provide a space for children’s hospitality center with a minimum of 50 square meters.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing invited all the owners of commercial centers, malls to hasten to correct their conditions, highlighting that failure to comply with this condition set by the ministry is considered a violation penalizing the companies by the secretariats and municipalities.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing pointed out that the objective of this new requirement is for women to enter the labor market and provide a suitable work environment for them, as the provision of child hospitality centers in commercial centers, malls will help remove hurdles for working mothers.

The Ministry stated that this step comes with a framework of cooperation, coordination, and integration between the government and private sector to provide the best services to society in all its categories, in particular between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to include the requirement of providing and operating a children’s hospitality center directly or through Investor, within the requirements for obtaining a license for commercial centers, malls.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing earlier in November gave a period of 6 months to the existing commercial centers and malls to correct their status, except for commercial centers designated for men’s goods.
