Final Exit Visa And Exit Re-Entry Visas In 10 days

Final Exit Visa And Exit Re-Entry Visas In 10 days

Landmark Labor Reform (LRI) has come into force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from today. The relationship between employees and employers will improve due to the LRI in the Kingdom. The activation of Exit Re-entry visas & Final exit visas will be done in 10 days, once the request is submitted. 10 day time period will be available to the employer to enquire about their employee who has requested for exit and re-entry visa application.

If the employer is unable to respond to the request within 10 days of time, a single visa will be issued for 30 days to the employee or the requester within five days since the expiry of this deadline. However, the employee upon the expiry of work contract will be unable to issue either an exit and re-entry visa with the employer or issue a multiple exit and re-entry visa. The employer is also not allowed to revoke the exit and re-entry visa issued by the expatriate worker.

According to the new rules, a 10 day period will be available to the employer to inquire about the employee’s request for issuing a final exit visa, and in the absence of any response from the employer, a final exit can be issued to the expatriate worker, and the validity of the visa will be 15 days from date of issue. The expatriate worker will be banned from returning to the kingdom permanently if the expat permanently leaves the Kingdom (KSA) during the validity period of the contract.

This is in the case when he obtains an exit and re-entry visa and do not return to the Kingdom before the expiry of the visa to complete the remaining period of the work contract. If an expatriate leaves the Kingdom on an exit and re-entry visa and is unable to return to the Kingdom before the expiry of the visa, the employer in such case has the right to extend the visa.
